Fleet management: a strategic challenge for ORTEC Group
World leader in engineering and construction solutions, ORTEC GROUP has selected the OPTIMUM to manage its fleet of vehicles, machinery and industrial equipment. A strategic choice aimed at strengthening the operational performance and sustainability of its activities in Africa.
For over 30 years, ORTEC GROUP operates in cutting-edge sectors such as Oil&Gas, nuclear, defense, transport, aeronautics, aerospace and heavy industry, as well as the service sector. Present in 28 countries on 4 continentsThe Group is experiencing dynamic growth, particularly in Africa, where it is deploying its services in 12 countries through 24 subsidiaries.
Every year, ORTEC GROUP invests between 15 and 20 million euros in Africa to modernize its equipment. Efficient management of 1,700 major machines in service (light vehicles, trucks, generators, forklift trucks, aerial work platforms, compressors, etc.) is a major strategic challenge. To meet this challenge, the company has chosen OPTIMUMan innovative solution that perfectly meets its requirements.
A high-performance solution tailored to the needs ofORTEC Group
"There were several criteria that motivated our choice," explains Wilfried BONNET, Director, Parc Matériel Afrique. "OPTIMUM's presence on the African continent guarantees us essential proximity to our local agencies. What's more, the platform offers advanced functionalities perfectly suited to our needs.
Another decisive advantage: compatibility with the HIBOOalready used by ORTEC GROUP to centralize and analyze its data. "The connectors were already in place, which made it easy to integrate the solution into our existing tools," emphasizes Karim KERROUZI, Assistant to the Africa Equipment Fleet Manager.
Ambitious deployment for a connected, optimized fleet
To date, 59% of equipment is already connectedwith the aim of achieving 100% by 2026. Adoption of the OPTIMUM solution is based on four major challenges :
✅ Real-time localization : in some countries, equipment is operated several hundred kilometers from operational bases. Precise knowledge of their location is essential for efficient management.
✅ Securing assets : equipment represents a financial and strategic investment. Thanks to OPTIMUM, ORTEC GROUP can ensure their protection through precise monitoring and remote immobilization when necessary.
✅ Optimizing operations By analyzing operating times, the Group ensures rational use of resources. "We can reallocate under-utilized equipment and optimize our investments," says Wilfried BONNET.
✅ Reducing our environmental footprint: analyses revealed, for example, that some trucks were idling 50% of the time, resulting in unnecessary fuel consumption and pollutant emissions. Optimizing the fleet not only extends the life of equipment, but also reduces its environmental impact.
Clear, ambitious objectives
"We're delighted to be working with OPTIMUM," say a joint statement from Karim KERROUZZI and Wilfried BONNET.
"Our objectives are concrete, realistic and achievable: increase the utilization rate of 6% equipment and reduce fuel consumption by 8% ". Thanks to this strategic collaboration, ORTEC GROUP affirms its commitment to more efficient and responsible management of its equipment in Africa.
"The success of this implementation relies on close collaboration between our teams, ensuring efficient deployment in each country. Thanks to the OPTIMUM platform, ORTEC GROUP benefits from optimized operational, financial and environmental management of its resources. We are proud to support ORTEC GROUP in this ambitious project", concludes Lilia MARINER, Head of Partnership at OPTIMUM.
