Fuel Monitoring is an advanced solution for monitoring and optimizing fuel consumption. Thanks to a device combining hardware and software, it makes it possible to precisely analyze fuel consumption, to detect flights at the pump or in the tanks and to optimize fuel costs.
The OPTIMUM fleet management platform offers three main functionalities:
- Real-time fuel level monitoring of each vehicle.
- Instant alerts in case of fuel theft, abnormal or low refueling, as well as an automatic check between refueling and fuel bills.
- Detailed and periodic reports on consumption, fuel intakes, and fuel-related incidents.
How does fuel level monitoring work?
The technology used varies according to the type of vehicle:
- Light Vehicles (LV): A CAN box is installed to directly collect data from the dashboard, including the fuel level.
- Heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) : A fuel probe is placed in the tank in order to continuously measure the fuel level and detect any anomalies.
How to detect fuel diversion at the pump?
The OPTIMUM platform compares the volumes of fuel mentioned on the invoices with those actually added to the tanks. If an invoice indicates a volume greater than that actually recorded in the vehicle, an alert is sent to the fleet manager to report a potential diversion of fuel at the pump.
